Roulette wheel numbers and colours
The wheel order is different from the betting grid. Learn the 37 pockets, the colour groups and what zero changes.
A European wheel contains 37 pockets numbered 0 to 36. The number sequence around the wheel is designed to balance high and low, red and black sections rather than place the numbers in counting order.
The European wheel sequence
Starting at zero, the standard order is 0, 32, 15, 19, 4, 21, 2, 25, 17, 34, 6, 27, 13, 36, 11, 30, 8, 23, 10, 5, 24, 16, 33, 1, 20, 14, 31, 9, 22, 18, 29, 7, 28, 12, 35, 3, 26.
Red, black and green
There are 18 red pockets and 18 black pockets. Zero is the single green pocket and is not part of red, black, odd, even, low, high, a dozen or a column. That one extra outcome is why standard even-money bets do not pay at true 50/50 odds.
Wheel order is not a prediction tool
Knowing the sequence helps you recognise the wheel and understand split positions, but it does not reveal the next result. A fair spin can land in any pocket, regardless of what appeared before it.
