Good conversation starts with clear boundaries

ChatFriends is an adult community for conversation and friendship. Every member is responsible for how they speak, what they share and whether they respect another person’s limits.

These rules apply across public, VIP and private areas of the service where relevant. They work alongside the terms and conditions and our privacy policy.

The essential rules

What every member needs to follow

Read all eight rules before taking part. The same standards apply whether an account is free or VIP.

Rule 01

Treat people with respect

Speak to members and staff as you would expect to be spoken to. Personal attacks, humiliation, discrimination and deliberately cruel behaviour are not welcome.

Rule 02

Do not harass or disrupt

Do not threaten, bully, repeatedly provoke, flood the room or continue contacting somebody who has asked you to stop. Disagreement is allowed; targeted abuse is not.

Rule 03

Protect private information

Do not post addresses, telephone numbers, passwords, financial details, identity documents or another person’s private messages. Share less while trust is still developing.

Rule 04

Keep public content appropriate

Do not upload sexual, explicit, exploitative or illegal material. Profile, cover and public room images must remain suitable for the wider adult community and advertising environment.

Rule 05

No spam, scams or promotion

Do not advertise other chat services, flood the room with links, solicit money or use ChatFriends to deceive members. Suspicious payment requests should be reported, not forwarded.

Rule 06

Use English in public rooms

Public and VIP room conversation should be in English so members and moderators can understand it. Other languages may be used privately where everyone involved agrees.

Rule 07

Follow moderation decisions

Moderators may step in to protect the room, move a conversation on or investigate a report. Follow reasonable directions and use the proper reporting route instead of starting a public argument.

Rule 08

Report problems responsibly

Report harassment, explicit material, scams and serious disruption with the relevant username, messages and time. Do not organise retaliation, publish private evidence or promise an outcome.

Fair and proportionate moderation

What happens when a rule is broken

Moderators consider the behaviour, available context, seriousness and any repeated pattern. Urgent safety concerns may require immediate action.

Review the context

Relevant messages, timing and previous behaviour help distinguish a misunderstanding from deliberate or repeated harm.

Take suitable action

Action may include guidance, content removal, restrictions, temporary suspension or account closure, depending on the circumstances.

Protect the room

Moderation decisions are made to reduce harm and allow ordinary conversation to continue. They are not intended to create a public spectacle.

When something goes wrong

Stop, save and report

If somebody is targeting you, stop replying and protect your personal information. Keep the relevant messages, username and approximate time, then use the report button beside the chat message or private message concerned.

Do not copy abusive content around the room or ask other members to confront the account. A focused report gives moderators clearer evidence and limits further disruption.
